About this house sitting position in Wombat Creek

We are located in the lakes and wilderness region of East Gippsland Victoria, surrounded by forests and not far from the coast if you like to fish! We invite you to come stay and care for our home on 28 acres for six weeks. Two friendly and happy dogs* await to greet you, while ten coloured sheep graze the grass so you don't need to mow anything! Native birdlife are frequent visitors to our restored bushland, along with occasional wallabies and wombats.

We seek a person or a couple of kind and mature people to care for our place and animals. Basically that includes going for daily walks with the dogs on the property, check that the sheep have water (some feeding via a trough might be needed too), and feed the chickens and collect the eggs. August is still winter, so any vege garden care is minimal, just turn a tap on the watering system if it is dry.

There is plenty of living space inside the house for relaxing or reading, two bathrooms, solar hot water, and a great kitchen area for cooking. A full verandah surrounds the house. There is no landline phone but you can get mobile phone reception (bring your mobile) and we do have satellite internet available.

Our closest town for food/fuel/postal/hospital is Orbost, under 20 minutes drive, or we are 30 mins from Lakes Entrance, or 50 mins from Bairnsdale. You will need your own car to stay here, our driveway access is good so a 2WD will get you here easily.
