Hello, we are Tanja & Andrew.
We are a family with a strong rural background seeking short term house-sits in Queensland & Northern NSW.
We live in the Lockyer Valley in Sth East Qld and would love to explore other small towns and country areas (although we do love a trip to the beach too!). It doesnt really matter where we go as we will always find something to do or somewhere to explore.
I am a stay at home mum (attempting to study online) and my husband is an agricultural specialist (grain crops). We are both from a country/farming background (properties 600 acres +) and my husband still plays an active part in his family's beef cattle and forage farm. His current role is advising large scale grain producers from Northern NSW up through Qld's South East, Wide Bay, North & North West Qld.
We are comfortable with stock management and irrigation if required although I have a soft spot for a house bound kitty and retired farm dogs. At home we have our own grumpy independent kitty, 2 guinea pigs, chickens and a super friendly kelpie cross (desexed, vaccinated). Until recently he had his big sister for company but she passed away so on occassion we would like to bring him on our adventures too as I dont want him to get lonely. However, if he cant come along he can have a holiday with either of our parents who also live close by.
We are new to being sitters so unfortunately we are unable to offer sitter references just yet but we're hoping that will change soon enough. We both have Working With Children checks as we have both volunteered with disability organisations and have hosted international high school exchange students. We are both non-smokers and non-drinkers (as we travel in my husband's company vehicle they have a nil alcohol policy). We are practical and hands-on.
We have our own caravan we can use if you prefer. We are home owners and investment property owners so you can be assured we will care for & maintain your property respectfully and diligently.
