More information about this house sitter

I am a very tidy, reliable and respectful non-smoker who leads a quiet lifestyle. I have a long history of house sits/home care having successfully run my own end of lease / house sale cleaning business, which included not only an eye for detailed cleaning, but also minor repairs/renovations, preparing homes for hand-over. Whilst I am not a builder, I can turn my hand to most “handy-man” jobs. Most of the projects I worked on came from referrals from previous jobs who had appreciated not only my work, but my reliability, trustworthiness and discretion. Many of these have become trusted relationships over many years, and I have been privileged to be a part of many home adventures across a number of countries.

Having had my own animals over the years, I do enjoy caring for travelling owner’s pets small or large (including Great Danes). This has included small farm holdings with larger animals (horses, donkeys). I must admit that it can be a little difficult sometimes handing them back after forming such relationships :)

Grounds maintenance follows the same, having managed small yards to larger estates over several acres. I have no problem with light landscaping, general maintenance, and even clearing and tidying unkept expanses. I am mindful of problem areas such as guttering and drains, and have maintained many pools, spas and fountains.

More recently, I became the primary carer for my grandfather in the UK until his passing. He underwent an operation that had complications and he became a paraplegic, losing the use of his arms. When my grandmother died, he desperately did not want to end up in a care home. As he could not feed or bathe himself, I went to live with him to both care for him and his apartment. Since this time, I have helped numerous ageing individuals care for and maintain homes/estates that were becoming too much for them to handle at their stage of life throughout the UK and Europe.

I am pursuing something I know well, house-sitting, as I particularly appreciate this avenue for its mutual benefit. It gives me an opportunity to get to explore an area, and I like to believe that I return a property as good, if not better than when I receive it.

I have been on the other side of entrusting property or animals to those unknown to me and appreciate the anxiety this can produce. I hope to have allayed some of this here, but should you need further confirmation, I have multiple references that are happy to share their experiences of me in this regard.
