Yves and Jules become empty nesters and explored the next chapter of their lives last year by travelling around the Australian coast anti clockwise. The romantic idea was to find as near as possible the perfect place in the country, somewhere close to a big city, maybe a tourist destination, close to the coast, somewhere that still has seasons and set up a B&B. One with a difference. Close to nature and personal. Along the way we farm sat, house sat, dog and cat sat, wwoofed and worked. The experiences we had on our travels were phenomenal, one of the major hi lights was having animals, mainly dogs, along with cats, chooks, cows, horses, birds, fish, turtle, snake, geckos and lizards, to look after and love. Getting to know their owners was pretty awesome too. We have a collection of great references that are located on this site.
The plan now is to do some long term house sitting in some of our favourite places and decide where to relocate. 52 and 51 we are fit and capable of physical work and activity. And between us we have experience with living on land, off grid, accommodating wwoofers, looking after animals, hosting B&B, using machinery, maintenance, gardening, hospitality, cooking, floristry, retail and more.
Yves has managed restaurants and hotel restaurants, function centers, including events, weddings, parties etc, in Australia for the past 11 years and Europe before that. He is therefore capable of organising and coordinating people and enterprises. Yves will be the person making contact with you. He has a big passion for people and entertaining, French cooking and sharing, a French accent, He also has a soft spot for cats and dogs.
Jules is an Aussie, has a Horticultural and floristry background, having worked in retail nurseries and her own florist/gift shop. With a focus on organic and permaculture principles and experience on large and small properties, farms as well as private gardens, gardening is her thing, which was also a very successful business.
We are hoping to find accommodating hosts who are happy to share their lot with us (wwoofing). As for house sitting, we will look after your home as if it were our own. We are tidy, house proud and non smokers. Animal lovers who make maintaining the pets as first priority, thats usually the reason we are house sitting. And with Jules background we are both keen to get into, take care of the garden.
