Hello, my name is Marco and last year (2016) I retired from the workforce at 52 years of age to live off a few investments and also to dabble with an online business. I only tell you this because if you’re looking for someone who can be present at your home pretty much 24/7 for the care and security of your pets and home then I certainly have the lifestyle to do that for you.

I am an extremely responsible individual and though I am new to house sitting I can provide a police clearance check. I have been a homeowner, landlord and tenant in my life and I am mature and experienced enough to know how to care for my own and other’s property. I am handy and can attend to small maintenance items myself or I can organise appropriate trades if needed. As a matter of fact I was raised by my parents to always return someone’s property back to them better than when they gave it to me, even if it’s only in a small way.

I currently rent in Glenelg but the place has been sold and the new owner wants to move in and so I’ve decided to house sit again. I house sat once in 2009 in Beaumont and I enjoyed it and had absolutely no problems with the owner. They had a dog and cat and a very high maintenance property to look after. I have rented sporadically over the years and I have always received glowing reported from the property managers because I am very clean, tidy, responsible and trouble free. I have lived in houses and apartments in both the city and hills. I have looked after pools and looked after gardens.

I am very good with all kinds of animals and I have always said that animals and kids love me. I’ve had dogs, cats, cows, horses and cared for a sheep. I bred Dobermans as a teenager (I have a great story about one litter) and up until 2 years ago I had a terrier until he passed away from old age. As a teenager I worked part time in a Vet Clinic in the city and country where I learned a lot about caring for animals and also identifying when they are ill. I was actually going to study Veterinary Science until the Vet I worked with told me that he looked at animals nowadays with a dollar sign in one eye and a cent sign in the other. As an impressionable young man I decided I never wanted to lose my love of animals.

During my working years I have been employed as a postman, police officer and business manager. I was never unemployed during my working life and I certainly don’t have an entitlement mentality. I am a very proactive, healthy and fit person who exercises regularly and I am a non-smoker. I have no doubt I will be capable to carry out whatever duty or responsibility you will need from a house sitter while you are away.
