More information about this house sitter

I recently travelled throughout Canada, United States, Europe and United Kingdom, completing 19 sits and 2 volunteer positions at professional horse stables. I have cared for a variety of horses, dogs, cats and geckos. I have now returned home to Melbourne and would like to continue house and pet sitting.

I am a mature aged Australian woman who has successfully instructed, trained and competed with dogs in showing, obedience, agility, endurance, flyball and sheep herding. I have owned a variety of breeds, including dobermanns, rough collie, fox terrier, Australian terrier, Australian kelpies, labrador, jack russells and border terrier. Together with my experience as an instructor, I have encountered many dog breeds and temperaments. I have bred two dobermann (7 and 3 pups) and two kelpie litters (8 and 6 pups), delivering all litters myself. I have basic dog grooming skills; stripped coats by brush and hand, hydro bathing and show preparation.

In 2002 I moved to eastern Victoria to live on hobby farms and became more involved with horses. I owned warmblood x, thoroughbreds, arab, welsh and clydesdale x horses. My daughter attended pony club and competed at shows. I attended adult riding club and was actively involved in both clubs as a committee member and president. I have prepared horses for shows including plaiting.

I gained a lot of skills while living on the hobby farms and have used chain saws, built horse yards and shelters, painted, completed minor household repairs, constructed dog runs, fencing, used ride on mowers and am quite adept at most electrical tools. My role as a Facilities Administrator for a large community health service with eleven sites had given me experience in evaluating maintenance issues and assessing the urgency of repairs.

My work experience has been predominantly in customer service, accounts, purchasing, maintenance and administration in local government, manufacturing, corrections and community health. I have excellent communication skills as most of my roles have involved interaction with trades people, government officials and the general public.
