About this house sitting position in Newcastle

We would like you to house and cat-sit in January from 8 -18th - a few additional days either side are easily accommodated. Our house was once set up for home-hosting of foreign students so you would have privacy.

We are in Newcastle, 45 mins from Nelson Bay and 1 hour from the Hunter Valley vineyards. It's a really convenient location with municipal pool in the street, walk to shops, library, pubs and coffee shops, and an excellent tapas restaurant. We are close to good cycleways and it is possible to ride (2 bikes) safely to Honeysuckle by the Hunter River and then the city and foreshore comfortably in 50 minutes. Otherwise the city pool and beaches are about 15 mins by car. It is a short drive to the Regal - a wonderful community cinema ($8) where there's always an appealing program Fri-Sun.
The house is a 1921 cottage with a modern rear extension that looks out onto the small but colourful garden. It's a relaxed space and very comfortable.
We have one senior cat - she comes and goes via a cat door and requires dry food in the morning, wet at night and a few kind words or a pat if she's in the mood. Smoochie is not high maintenance so you would have a lot of time for exploring the environs.
In addition to January we are also looking for a 3 week period in March.
