More information about this house sitter

I am French from Grenoble, my husband of 30+ years, an Australian engineer from Melbourne. We have lived and worked in France, Italy, Belgium, Australia, and for the last 4 years in New Caledonia. We are both non-smokers. With our son now finished university in Melbourne and working, it is now our pleasure to enjoy our travel at a more leisurely pace.
I was a VCE (Australian baccalaureate) French teacher at several private schools in Melbourne, before going with my husband to New Caledonia. As a volunteer with the Red Cross there, I was actively involved with the support activities in the Kanak villages, and helping the local women and families with simple day-to-day duties. To me this was personally very fulfilling and gave me the opportunity to better understand the social, economic and political problems in these communities, and well as being able to contribute and help in a very real way the women and children.
I also adopted two furry friends, Ambre and Marcel. Soraya, my white Persian Chinchilla had passed away only a short period before leaving for New Caledonia, so they were a welcome comfort and certainly they enjoyed being looked after and being spoilt in various simple ways. Back in Melbourne, I adopted a small little lost soul, now named Pépino, who at less than a year old is an extremely active and very sociable Maine Coon cross. Our neighbours have collies and they allow me to walk them several times a week, the exercise being not only for them, but also myself. I have been thinking of having a small dog, but I think I will need permission from my current furry friend to proceed.

We are both non-smokers and very conscious of others’ properties and contents. Read more...
