More information about this house sitter

We are a very active and highly responsible professional couple who have recently retired (Chris from the AUstralian Federal Police (AFP) after 33 years and Di from the Commonwealth Public Service after 20 years) and am now looking forward to the joys of travelling around Australia at a leisurely pace.

We have three adult children (two of whom are also in the AFP and the third; a chiropractor and six grandchildren (don’t worry - as much as we love them to bits, they won’t be coming with us :). We have travelled extensively having been on three International postings but now wish to enjoy all that Australia has to offer.

We have had our own dogs and cat (Tubby - a chihuahua/ Pomeranian cross; Gizmo - a pure bred Pomeranian and Tyson; a pedigree Scottish fold) who were all house animals and obviously required a very high level of grooming and maintenance which we enjoyed doing for them. Sadly our much loved, dear little friends who were an integral part of our family for the best part of 13 years, all passed away over the past few years breaking our hearts each time. One of the great things about MINDAHOME is that we would get the opportunity to thoroughly enjoy a variety of family pets again but would be able to escape the heartbreak of loosing them.

We love our home in Canberra and are very house proud. We are extremely clean (our kids jokingly comment that we obsessive compulsive about it). We have beautiful gardens which although are high maintenance, are our pride and joy. We love our neighbourhood in Chifley ACT and ensure that our street always looks good by sweeping footpaths etc and reporting any issues to the relevant government department.

If you receive an application from us you can go on your holidays rest assured that your home and or pets, will be treated as if they were ours. We know how important your home and pets are to you having enjoyed the same. We will respect your home, your pets and your belongings and report anything to you in the unlikely event that anything goes awry on our ‘shift’. We are extremely trustworthy, honest and reliable. We do not take the opportunity to mind your home lightly - we consider it quite a privilege. Chris is also quite the handyman and can fix virtually anything so minor repairs to leaking taps etc won’t be an issue if required.
