Mindahome house sitters David and Glenys of Albury have been members since early 2013. They explain how they escape the winter months.
Our names are Glenys and David. We reside in Albury NSW. For the last five years since our retirement we have been house sitting in Queensland to get away from our cold Southern winter in June, July and August. We have made many life long friends along with their pets and also gained some excellent references.
This year our house sitting commenced in May at Nindeeree on the Sunshine Coast between Yandina and Eumundi. This was a lovely home in the Hinterland of the Sunshine Coast. The home was on two acres and had three lovely Border Collies we looked after for seven weeks. We also had our daily chores of looking after the house, garden and pool.
After seven weeks we moved on to Redcliffe for three weeks. This house sit we had an absolute gorgeous little chihuahua called Coco to look after. She enjoyed our company as much as we enjoyed hers. This was a small home to look after and we maintained the gardens, watered and cut the lawns. We really fell in love with the beauty and area around Redcliffe. We would recommend to everyone to mark this as one area to make a port of call.
Whilst we were at Redcliffe we were approached by the most amazing lovely people and asked if we would be available to look after their home on the Gold Coast at Coomera. Well we were amazed, this is what you would consider a dream house sit. Double story water front home on the Coomera River with no pets to look after and just a beautiful garden to be watered every three days. Boats cruising past day in and day out. One of the best house sits we have done which lasted for seven weeks.
After all of the above sits we had missed our cold southern winter, and have now returned home to Albury fully refreshed and looking for where we may end up next winter. I’ve included some photos which explained why we love house sitting so much.
Thank you Mindahome
Cheers David and Glenys (Albury)
