Sydney – it’s been ranked the second best travel destination in the world, and we can certainly see why. Sydney is one Australia’s most beautiful cities, with a host of attractions and activities to explore. Couple all that Sydney has to offer with an Aussie love of sharing everything with our beloved animal companions, and you have the perfect recipe for a good time out.
If you’re planning a stint in Sydney and surrounds and want to make the most of your time – and your budget! – consider some of these top spots to visit on your own or with a pet-pal by your side.
Accommodation – First things first – where to stay? As you can imagine, accommodation in one of the world’s most desired destinations can come with a price tag. But house and pet sitting offers a neat solution, which also comes with the added benefit of playing pet-parent for a time and enjoying fur-friend cuddles at the end of each day. Search for house and pet sitting positions in and around Sydney to make the most of your time in town.
Beaches – We might be biased, but Australia has some of the best beaches in the world, and Sydney beaches certainly are top-notch. Always check that the beach you’re heading to allows dogs on or off-leash before you visit. Rose Bay Park and Reserve and Sirius Cove Reserve in Mosman are great places to stroll around with your doggo, particularly during summer. There’s also the Bondi to Coogee Walk which you can enjoy with your dog on a lead.
Walk along the Sydney Harbour Bridge – While many people are attracted to walk over the bridge, suffice to say that our pets won’t be allowed to come along for the experience. So, why not do the best next thing and walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge? Soak up the views and enjoy gazing out at the harbour as you walk along the walkway of one of Australia’s most iconic structures. Good news is, it’s free!
Dining with doggo – As an animal loving nation, you would expect that we would have a range of dog friendly eateries on hand, and you would be right! Sydney has a range of dog friendly restaurants, cafes and more to stop and tuck into some food with your pet-pal.
Get some exercise – The best way to explore Sydney is to live like a local, and when you’re with your canine friend, the dog park is the place to be. Sydney dog parks cater to dogs of different size and energy levels, with some incorporating agility courses, tunnels and obstacles
